Solution for
Windows98 Users
- Click Start/Settings/Control Panel
- Click the Internet Icon
- Type: http://www.prismweb.net
- Click on Apply
- Click the Connection Tab at the top of the window.
- Click the button that says "Connect"
This starts the
"Internet Connection Wizard"
- Choose the middle option: (I have an existing Internet connection
through my phone line
.) / Next
- Choose the first option: (Select this option if you are accessing
the internet using an internet service provider
.) / Next
- Choose the first option: (Connect using your phone line) / Next
Note: At this point, if you do not have a modem installed, your
computer will attempt to find one
Type the PrismWeb.Net access phone number that is nearest to you.
- Enter your user name and password.(All lower case letters
make
sure your CAPS LOCK light is not on) / Next
- Choose yes (to change advanced settings) / Next
- Choose yes (Point to Point Protocol) / Next
- Choose "I don't need to type anything when logging on" /
Next
- Choose "My internet service provider automatically assigns me
one" / Next
- Choose "Always use the following" and enter the following
numbers:
- DNS Server: 208.236.175.5
- Alternate DNS Server 208.236.175.248
- Change connection name to: PrismWeb.Net
/ Next
Mail Account Setup
- Choose Yes to setup your mail account:
- Choose "Create a new Internet Mail Account"
- Type your name as it would appear on a letter, or how you would
like it to appear on the Internet.
- Type in your email address: your_user_name@prismweb.net
- Email server names:
- Incoming Mail Server is: mail.prismweb.net
- Outgoing Mail Server is: mail.prismweb.net
- Enter your name and password
- Click next
Internet News Setup
- Choose yes to setup your Internet News account
- Choose Yes to create a new account
- Enter your Name as it would appear on a letter, or how you want it
to appear on the internet (This may be filled in already)
- Enter your email address (This may already be filled in)
- News server: news.prismweb.net
- Click next
- Select No when asked to setup a Directory Service.
- Click Finish
