How do I change the telephone number with which I dial into Prismweb.net?

When you set up your software, the installation program we distribute would have prompted you to choose whichever telephone number is most convenient for you. However, later on down the road, you may wish to change the telephone number your modem dials without having to reinstall the entire set of software all over again.

Solution for Windows95 Users

Double-click on My Computer. Then double-click on Dial-Up Networking. Click on Prismweb.net with your right-mouse button. Click on Properties. There in the top right you should see the current phone number setting. Simply click in the box and delete that number and replace it with the new number. Click on OK.

Solution for Windows 3.1x Users

For Trumpet Winsock

In Trumpet Winsock, click on Dialer and then on setup.cmd. This will initialize the Setup screen that you first used when you signed on. Simply replace the old number with the new number in the first window and click on OK in the two following windows that ask for your login name and password.

For Internet Explorer for Windows 3.1

Double-click on your PrismWeb.net icon, which will bring up your Connection window. Click on the Properties icon. There you will see your current number setting. Simply click in the box and delete the current number and replace it with the new number. Click on OK.

Solution for MacOS Users

Use either the menubar icon or manually open up the FreePPP Setup program. Then, use the triangle marker in the lower left to expand the resultant window, if it is not already open. Click the Accounts tab, then highlight your PrismWeb.net account and hit the Edit button. You may now change the phone number that will be displayed, second field down. Once you are finished, click OK, and then close the FreePPP Setup window.
