Can I use Prismweb.net to access my America Online account?

Current subscribers to the AOL service know how slow the local connection can be. There is also the added hassle of dropped connections, busy signals, and hanged login attempts. However, if you wish, you can use your PrismWeb.Net account to access your America Online account.

Solution for Windows95 or Windows 3.1x Users

Go into your America Online software (this requires at least version 2.5 or later of AOL). Go to setup. Select Edit Location. Click on the arrow next to Network. Scroll down until you get to TCP/IP and select that option. Save your options as you now have them set.

When you have done that, log into PrismWeb.Net in the usual manner. Once you are connected with us, just run your AOL software as if it were just another program that uses an existing Internet connection.

Notes for Users of America Online

Note that while this setup allows you to use PrismWeb.Net to access your AOL account, it still requires that you actually have an AOL account; doing the above will not create you one.

Also, please note that AOL and PrismWeb.Net are two separate, unrelated services. Having one does not entitle you to use the other, and if you have accounts on each you must pay for them individually. AOL offers special pricing for subscribers that use a local provider (such as us) to access their service; please speak to an America Online representative for more information on how to do this.
